tools partner, just announced the release of Version 5.2.2 of its extend5
family of technologies. The new release provides enhanced COBOL support for
applications both maintained on, and migrated off, the HP e3000 server, a
popular platform that HP plans to discontinue in 2006. To help enterprise
and government end users, programmers and Independent Software Vendors
(ISVs) move their mission-critical applications to another server line,
Acucorp has built a set of HP e3000 migration-specific features into Version
5.2.2. These features include HP COBOL compatibility, HP COBOL macro
support and a source-level COBOL debugger.

The Challenge will require the team's eight hikers to climb the three highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - in less than 24 hours. Micro Focus International Ltd. today announced at the IBM PartnerWorld 2002 conference in San
Francisco that Micro Focus will provide COBOL support for IBM's recently
released IBM eServer zSeries Linux-only mainframe. With this agreement, Micro Focus will build and
market COBOL for Linux on zSeries, using its Server Express(TM) product as the basis for the first version to be
available in September 2002. By using Server Express for Linux on zSeries, customers can consolidate applications
currently running on multiple platforms onto a single server thereby reducing their maintenance and
administrative efforts.
